The Envirothon is a natural resource program sponsored by local Soil and Water Conservation District for high school students. The Envirothon emphasizes hands-on, team oriented solving skills. The team is tested on their knowledge in the areas of Forestry, Soils, Wildlife and a current environmental issue that changes each year.

The Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors a $500.00 scholarship. The scholarship is for a graduating high school student pursuing a career in agriculture. The scholarship application is available at the schools and the office after the first of each year.

This is a day for 5th graders in Monroe County intended to educate students about conservation and natural resources. This event is held in the spring.

The Annual 4-H Conservation Award is sponsored by the Monroe Country SWCD. 4-H members who complete and show a project in the natural resource division have the possibility of being chosen as the winner and receiving a cash prize from SWCD.
